José is the feminine factor in a male company. Coming from the healthcare field, at first she was a fish out of water at IJskoud, but now she runs the show with warmth, softness, and a smile. José likes to make things easy. Keep it simple, as she says. The same goes for her company. “We make things cold. It’s really that simple.”
Wonder Woman of the Week, José Komin’s Purpose
Tammy: What were you put on this Earth to do? In other words, what’s your life’s purpose?
José: I want to become the best version of myself at all times — to make the most of every situation. I want to make the world around me, and very specifically the world of technology, a little softer and more feminine.
Tammy: What role does your work play in your life? How does it embody your values?
José: My work is an important part of who I am. It ensures that I can fulfill my needs (the base in Maslow’s pyramid) and more, in order to focus on the people around me. It offers me structure, it gives me guidance, and through my work, I can contribute.

Tammy: What message would you like to give to other women?
José: You have everything you need inside you. Embrace being a woman and love yourself. Only then can you give.
Tammy: Tell us about your relationship with clothing? What do you think about the act of getting dressed? What role does clothing serve for you? Does it hold a certain meaning or significance?
José: My clothing gives me confidence when I look like I put time and energy into my appearance.
Fortunately, I know a lot of great stores and have women around me that I trust completely and who advise me. What I find really difficult is combining items that I didn’t buy together as outfits. I don’t allow myself time to do this. Once in awhile I ask Tammy to help me with that.
Tammy: How has your relationship with clothing changed throughout your career?
José: Frank, my very first business coach, gave me this advice. He said, “José, if you want to show leadership, you have to dress like a leader.”
I still do that to this day. You won’t see me going to work in jeans anytime soon.
Tammy: Describe an outfit of yours that makes you feel like Wonder Woman when you wear it.
José: A classic pantsuit, a stylish dress, or soft leather pants paired with a beautiful top.
