Tips from Tammy: Embracing Your Flaws
(video transcript)
On today's Tip from Tammy, I'm talking about embracing your flaws and knowing when to ask for help.
Nervous Habit
I have a nervous habit where I'm constantly running my fingers through my hair on this side, and what happens is, I wind up breaking my hair off below my ear. For real.
I was talking to my hair stylist about this. Obviously she knows my habit, and lately it's gotten really bad.
Solution
She said, "What if we give you an asymmetrical haircut? What if we just purposely.. What if I purposely cut your hair shorter on this side and leave this side longer?"
I thought, "What a great idea!"
So we talked about how short is too short, and she did it, and I'm really happy with the results.
The Tip
The lesson to be learned is, don't be nervous. It's okay to admit that you have some things, some flaws and just know the right experts
to trust to come up with a solution. You don't have to do it all yourself.
More Tips
If you live near Amsterdam and are in the market for a new hairstylist (she does it all: cuts, colors, braids), I can heartily recommend Gabriƫlle at The Braidest. You can find her on Instagram.
